I’ve never really thought about it but I spend roughly 40 hours a week in front of my desk at work. It’s like my little second home, my own private pad and obviously over time it starts to represent you as an individual. I like to be minimalistic but classy with my desk space, I’m not a big fan of clutter especially when I’m trying to work.
So what exactly do I have on my desk?
My favourite item is my diary. I live through this diary, quite literally. I had the 2017 Kate Spade diary and I’ve never been so happy with anything in my life so I knew I had to get the 2018 one as well. It’s a ring binder which means it lays open flat on my desk so I can see the full week ahead of me. It’s brilliant. I got it in a bargain sale at Paperchase too, usually they’re about £23 (completely worth it – I was willing to pay this price regardless) but it only cost me £7. Thank you Paperchase!!
My second favourite item is my Ted Baker pencil case. I’ve had this for years now and it goes everywhere with me. It doesn’t look very pretty on the inside, after years of topless pens, but it still looks adorable and practically good as new on the outside. It’s been a trusty friend and it will stay with me for the long run.
Can you see a floral theme appearing? I drink so much tea I’m surprised I haven’t changed my name to something like Camomile or Lavender (if anyone knows of a tea called Lottie then hit me up).
I’m not a big fan of using the office mugs because I know we don’t wash them out properly – guilty! So I stick to my little travel cup, plus it means when I forget about my tea it’s still relatively warm an hour later!
This is the only photograph I have on my desk at the moment and it features my sister and her friend. I don’t often pay for the overpriced photo booths but we all chipped in and it’s actually quite adorable. I think there’s something really sweet about photo reels so I’m considering collecting these on a more regular basis!
These are the little bits that people laugh at me for – I don’t know why, they must be jealous of my rose scented skin, soft hands and plump lips. Or they think I’m an over dramatic princess. Either one is fine by me really. The face mist by Skin.goo is amazing, there’s nothing more refreshing than spritzing yourself with rose water when you’re stressed. Combine that with the Soap & Glory hand cream and my little section of the room smells lush. The bubblegum lip scrub from Lush is super tasty, I honestly spend more time eating it than I do rubbing it on my lips.
Every desk needs notebooks and both of these I have received as gifts. Our brand colour scheme is light blue and that’s my all time favourite colour so it’s given me an excuse to invest in notebooks that I actually want. Both of these are from Paperchase and they have a range of colours and sizes. They are great quality and I will continue to use these notebooks!
Hope you’ve all had a good week!
Lots of love, Lottie xoxo
