Christmas Book Tag

I’ve seen this tag floating around quite a lot recently and I think it’s absolutely beautiful. Books are my world, I thrive on the magic that lives on those few delicate pages and that feeling of fulfilling emptiness that comes when you close the last one. The freedom of knowing that you can revisit each world and every character will be waiting to welcome you back. Christmas is the best time to start a new book so this is why for Blogmas Day 6 I’m doing the Christmas Book Tag.

(I don’t know who originally created this but I think credit goes to Sam at Sam’sNonsense).

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

I’m not a massive non-fiction reader as I love to let my imagination do a lot of the work, but recently my favourite YouTuber has announced that she will be publishing her book at the start of 2018. Lindy Tsang, a.k.a Bubz, has had a variety of social media channels from Bubbiosity to Bubzbeauty. She now focuses on lifestyle vlogs with her two beautiful children Isaac and Ayla. I have been watching Bubz since I was a young girl and since then I’ve watched her grow into an incredible mother, friend and sister. She is such an inspiration to me and she has a way with words that I’ve never encountered from anyone else. I already know her book is going to be magical. Follow her channel here!

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing their praises?

At the minute I’m reading the Game of Thrones books and I’ve never read anything so well written in my life. The pure talent and detail that’s gone into creating this world and the politics behind each house astounds me. George R.R Martin, I salute you.

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?

I don’t even need to think before I say Harry Potter. I think the fact that it has become a worldwide sensation and place of safety for so many of its readers says everything. From Hogwarts to Malfoy Manor every part of this book felt like home. In fact I think I’d even take Godrics Hollow after a bash with Voldemort if I meant I could go there. Take this picture of me visiting Harry Potter World in Orlando as proof of my adoration.

A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read

I’ve always wanted to read Pride & Prejudice or Jane Eyre. I’d love to see how these classic romances inspired our modern day fairytales.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas

I’ve got a whole collection of books waiting for me to read them, so this year I don’t really have any books on my wish list (shocker I know). I normally use my Kindle, so people tend to get me Kindle Amazon vouchers so that as soon as a book comes out that I want, I can grab it without thinking.

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling

I recently read a series that isn’t super well known. It’s called the Gender Game by Bella Forrest. It’s such an interesting concept, two worlds separated by gender, the different priorities finally coming together and colliding in the later books. It follows Violet Bates as the main character and although she’s killed a couple of people, I’d happily aspire to be like her. (Don’t judge me until you’ve read it). If you’re a fan of dystopian societies e.g. Hunger games or Divergent, then this is the series for you! I absolutely adored it and read all 8 books – yes, 7 books – in the space of a few weeks. Get the first book here. You won’t regret it!

This is just a quick look at some of my favourite books at the minute. I am a BIG reader so I’m sure you’ll hear more about this in the future! For now, kick back, relax and pick up a book.

Lots of Love, Lottie xoxo
