Buying gifts for people that are both something they’d like and something they’d actually use is an extremely tiresome task. Tie that in with tackling shopping centres at this time of year and suddenly Christmas doesn’t seem so joyful anymore. Especially for our men, who would much rather be, well, literally anywhere else.
Don’t worry lads I’ve got your back.
The first step is understanding your gal, if your girlfriend/mother/sister is into a specific type of thing e.g anime, rock ‘n’ roll or vintage goods, this list probably won’t be of much use to you. But here are a few sites that may be instead:
(If you have chance I would also recommend visiting Afflecks in Manchester, https://www.afflecks.com)
I have recently discovered the shop Oliver Bonas which is currently my go to place for EVERYTHING. So this is where my list begins.
Oh and it also begins at the alcohol section because what is Christmas without bubbly? Or, more generally, what is life without bubbly?
These glasses are currently in the running for possibly my favourite ever champagne flutes. They’re delicate, pretty and combine the gorgeous colour palette of pink and rose gold. They’re on sale here for £32. A little on the pricier side but it’s Christmas, spoil her.
I’ve added this gorgeous cork into the mix as well because not only would it make a wonderful gift but it can also be considered a stocking filler if that’s the route you’re going down. Marble is so on trend right now and adds sophistication to any boozy evening. Find it here for £12.
Still on the topic of fizz, I recently came across the next product in Lakeland and was blown away by its simplicity. Shimmer for your prosecco, you simply add a drop into your drink and it creates the most beautiful shimmer effect. Perfect for any Christmas or New Year parties. This is on my own Christmas wish-list, fingers crossed Santa visits Lakeland. Or has access to the internet as you can buy it here for £7.49.
I’m also quickly adding these bubbles into the list too, as they’re cheap and cheerful. The perfect stocking filler that would work wonders with the previously mentioned powder. I also know that there is an offer on in the Lakeland stores at the moment that would allow you to buy both items in a package deal for less, so it would be worth looking in store for this deal. Or get them individually for £3.79 here.
Christmas morning wouldn’t be right without a brew, this beautiful mug would start the day off wonderfully. Get it here for £10.
Combine your cup of tea with some breakfast chocolate, yes you heard right. If your girl is up for a little tastebud adventure then I’m sure this would be an ideal start to Christmas Day. Try them now for £11.99 from Firebox.
If you read my blogs regularly then you’ll recognise the next item, from my sister’s birthday haul. I loved it so much that I’m including it in here as well, it is a small item that manages to bring out the minimalistic beauty in any room. This is the slightly smaller version which I think would be perfect as a stocking filler or if you’re willing to splash out combine it with a new ring. I can guarantee by doing that you’ll be getting more than just socks for Christmas, if you get my meaning lads…
Get it here for £5.
Another very popular item at the minute are these baby pink fluffy cushions. This particular sheepskin one from Oliver Bonas has such a rich feel to it that it would make a wonderful main gift for any girl. Get it here for £42.
If you’re wanting to spend a little less then I recommend checking out the H&M Home range as it has some real gems. Take this beautiful plate for example, perfect for holding jewellery or any bits and bobs. Plus it’s only £1.99, so you can’t go wrong. Find it here.
Last but not least a candle, you can’t go wrong with a candle. Currently Yankee Candle are having a 30% off festive smells sale so get over to their collection here and pick one up like this one for only £16.79. (Normally £23.99)
I hope I’ve given you a small push in the right direction. Of course only you know the girl you’re buying for so don’t assume that everything on here will be right for her. I wish you both a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2018.
Lots of love, Lottie xoxo
